Join readers in November for BookTalk

If you have been itching to talk about the books you read, then join fellow readers for BookTalk on the first Thursday of each month.

BookTalk, everyone’s favorite sharing time for readers, will meet at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 4. Join group discussion leader Krystal Smalley for a casual talk about books. No matter the subject or genre, all readers are welcome to talk about anything book related.

BookTalk meets on the first Thursday of the month at 11:00 a.m. The 2021 schedule is as follows: November 4 and December 2.

Compete to make the best Rube Goldberg Machine!

Do you know who Rube Goldberg is? If not, Upper Sandusky Community Library’s STEAMpunks have you covered!

Join Youth Services Specialist Lisa Andres at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, November 1 as she introduces you to Rube Goldberg: cartoonist, inventor, and the only person listed in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary as an adjective. After a little background, it’ll be your turn to create your very own Rube Goldberg Machine that is able to ring a bell. The team whose contraption works continuously longer ringing the bell will win. All items will be supplied for the program.

Get ready for loads of fun with Miss Jill at Tiny Tots and Preschool StoryTime!

Tiny Tots StoryTime is an energetic program designed for children ages newborn to 3 years old and their caregiver. It will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Mondays, 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, and 11:00 a.m. on Wednesdays.

Preschool StoryTime is a fun, interactive program which includes a science experiment for ages 3 to 6. It will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Mondays.

Bring a pumpkin dish to Lunch Bunch

Got lunch plans? Then join Cheryl Lyon for What’s Cookin’: Lunch Bunch on Monday, October 25!

Lunch-goers should bring a pumpkin dish to the noon edition of What’s Cookin’: Lunch Bunch to share with everyone. Then get ready to discuss cooking, baking, recipes, and more. Make sure to bring your own beverage to quench your thirst.

This year’s What’s Cookin’ schedule is as follows: October 25 (pumpkin dishes), November 15 (brunch), and December 13 (potluck and gift exchange).

Taste of the Town is a new adult cooking program hosted by the Upper Sandusky Community Library. In this monthly program, representatives from local restaurants will share their culinary passion and demonstrate how to make one of their most popular dishes.
